Bed with slide can be removed to make room for new room
The owner of a bed with a slide is set to make it his new home.
The bed was purchased at a garage sale last year and is currently used by his wife, a young daughter and a number of friends.
He said it had been on the market for a while but was only recently put up for sale.
“I found it at a sale and I had bought it from my neighbour and my sister,” he said.
He said the bed had a number issues and had recently been used by friends who did not have the space for it.
“It’s in a really bad condition and has quite a bit of water damage and a lot of holes,” he told 7.30.
“We are getting quite a few complaints about it.
It’s very noisy and there are a lot going on.”
Mr Gaffney said the house had been up for a number years but he had not seen much of the family and was happy to take on the task.
“I am not a carpenter so it’s going to be quite a work,” he joked.
A friend who lives in the same house, said it was a “huge opportunity” to get the bed out of the house.
“The bed has had a bit more time to be used and a bit bigger,” he explained.
“They are just not used to being inside their house so I think it’s a good thing that we can bring the house together and make it more family friendly.”
